Meet the Middle School Counselor - Sharita Lampkin

My name is Sharita M. Lampkin and I am the Middle School Counselor here at Las Américas ASPIRA Academy. This is my sixth year at ASPIRA Academy and my 17th year as a Public School Educator and Counselor. Prior to ASPRIA Academy, I worked as a middle school math teacher in the Appoquinimink School District, the Cecil County Public School district and the Warren County Public School district in Georgia. In addition, I have worked as a Social Worker in the state of Illinois and in the city of Philadelphia. My experiences have given me a unique perspective to assist our student population in achieving their educational goals. I have always had a passion for education and learning. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Science from Fort Valley State University. Upon graduation, I enrolled in Lincoln University where I received a Master of Education degree. I also hold an additional Master of Education degree in School Counseling from Wilmington University.

I live in Middletown Delaware and I enjoy spending time with my husband and children. My daughter is an honor student at the University of Alabama and a sprinter on the University’s track and field team. I have one middle school age son who plays football for the M.O.T. Youth Football and Cheer Organization and a son who is an athletic college graduate from the University of South Carolina. I am a sport’s mom who enjoys watching my children compete in their respective sport.
